I have always liked Chris Isaac but have to admit that I do not own any of his music. I went with freinds for an evening out.

The show was in a small casino in Nevada. It was cozy and we had seats in the middle side. Our side turned out to be the side to be on cuz twice Chris made his way down the side aisle to stand right in front of me.

The music was great. Chris has an amazing voice that just puts you in a trance. You can't help but move to the rythum and beeat the band played. In addition it is refreshing to see a band that does not take itself to serious. There was as much comedy going on as great music.

Apperantly at some point in the show they had deviated from the set list and never really found their way back to it. It turned into an incredible jam session. At one point someone was yelling out requests. Chris yells out to him what do you think this is some piano bar were you can yell out a request and we will play it with a sarcastic tone, then proceded to play the requested song.

Because it is that time of year Christmas songs were played and a dancing santa was placed on stage at some point. When they came out to play their encore they just kept playing and playing. Chris joked that he was gonna get into trouble from the casino management for keeping us away from the craps tables.

If you have the oppurtunity to see Chris Isaac take it. You won't be disappointed.

Why did I think a kitten was a good idea

So it has been many many years since I have dealt with a Kitten in the house. Either I have had incredibly good luck with previous Kittens being good natured and calm or I adopted Satan from the pound.

She is only about 6 months old now but weighs 8 lbs (when do kittens stop growing, soon I hope). She is the most aggressive cat I have ever experienced. I have squirt bottles with water all over the house. They are effective in stopping the attacks but not preventing them. She prefers to attack your legs when they are bare. She also likes to lick you a couple times before grabbing you and biting you. Personnally I think she is tasting me to decide if today is the day to try human flesh.

Normal cat toys such as feathers and string are only mildly interesting to her. She prefers attacking stuffed animals that are close to the same size she is. She has a stuffed frog that she will spend long periods of time licking, attacking and carrying around. If a long string is attached to the the frog she delights in attacking it as it is dragged around the room.

My 50 pound border collie must be protected from her lest she pounce on him and proceed to chew his fur and swat his face. He just gives me a look that says please I can make it quick and painless, one bite and we will be free from this oppresive, tyrant.

I'm just gonna jump right in here. So yesterday I had some house cleaning on my Sunday schedule, but I was being lazy and trying to pick a name for my BLOG. While sitting at my computer I decided to put a CD in the puter to listen to for inspiration. I was wearing shorts. I pulled the cd case out of the cubby and opened it in my lap, put the cd in the puter and was about to que it up when I felt a little tickle on my knee. No big deal I looked down expecting to see a peice of string from the cd case (it is a soft nylon case that holds 24 cds). Well what greeted me on my knee was a large brown spider (must have been at least a 10 pounder) who appeared to be deciding wether he should jump from my knee to a juicier part of my anatomy or just settle for biting my hard knee cap.

Need I tell you that the CDs and case flew to the floor with said spider as I initiated an perfect piroutte from a sitting position. Quite a feat considering I have not had a ballet lesson in my life. I was safe, but now where had the spider gone too. I could not possible sit back at the computer until that monster was found and eliminated. After many minutes of moving stuff with a coat hanger (I was not gonna give him a second chance at my body) I found him waiting in ambush behind the trash can. I dispatched him with a shoe, but still could not return to my computer for fear that his family members may seek revenge.

So out came the vacume and dusting supplies. 2 hours later after vacuming not only the bedroom where my computer lives, but the living room, kitchen, and hallway, also cleaning the Kitchen from top to bottom, and taking out all the trash and cleaning up much clutter in the house I returned to my desk. Unfortunately I had lost all creativity and could not return to my computer until now.

At least now I now why the Kitten has been poking her paws in the desk cubbies for the last week. Next time instead of stopping here and banishing her when she is so persistent that I lost my patience I will encourage her and offer her an ounce of catnip for every spider erradicated.
